Unmanned Systems Geospatial Applications

Introduction: In this lab, we continued to learn more about the software, Pix4D.  More specifically, we learned how to import ground control coordinate data into Pix4D.  Through this, we were able to understand how to set the coordinate system of the Ground Control Point (GCP) data and adjust the data in Pix4D using the GCP coordinate data.  The differences were then compared between the corrected and non-corrected data. In the end, we created a map using the high-resolution orthomosaic with detailed insets of the GCPs.  Before we get to that, the questions and answers below provide background that would be beneficial before continuing onto the project: What are Ground Control Points (GCPs) and what do they accomplish? Introduction In this lab, we were introduced to the learn.arc.gis.com and the living atlas.  The website, learn.arc.gis.com, has a wealth of information with lessons ranging from the simplest of tutorials to much more difficult ones.  These lessons will be explored and used in this assignment. One of these lessons will be the “Getting Started with ArcGIS Living Atlas.” This introduces the living atlas within ArcGIS Pro which is extremely useful, as it is an ever-growing collection of curated and authoritative geographic information from around the world.  This includes maps, apps, and data layers that can be used in any project.
