Assessment

Lab 10: Measure Ground Control as a SSoT for Mission Planning, Flight Records, and Maintenance of UAS

Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

  • 2 - I had little knowledge on platforms similar to this, so this was a good experience learning about this.

Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

  • 4 - I believe I have enough knowledge now on the app, enough to teach someone else this platform.

Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

  • 5 - I believe the hands-on approach did help with how much I was able to learn, as if this was done in another way, I do not believe I could have retained as much as I did. I really enjoyed this lab.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

  • With this activity in particular, I believe it was a really solid lab if the student took time with the app like I did.  I really enjoyed this lab.

Lab 9: Using Arc Collector

  • 4 - I believe the hands-on approach did help with how much I was able to learn, as if this was done in another way, I do not believe I could have retained as much as I did.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

  • With this activity in particular, I believe it would have been more beneficial to add more to what the data would be used for specifically such as a potential presentation or format that would be given to the customer.  Other than that, this was a very good lab.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

  • With this activity in particular, I believe it would have been more beneficial to start with the 53 images from the start in the last couple of labs rather than splitting it up and then having to take all the time to reprocess data.  This is a simple task that takes a long time to process the data.  It mentions using the past data files, but this couldn't be done as only 21 images were used in the last one rather than the full set.

  • 2 - I had a little knowledge from the last lab of how to actually use ArcGIS Pro.

Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

  • 3 - I believe I have added to my knowledge of basics of ArcPro enough to be able to repeat it, especially making the maps.

  • 2 - I believe I know the basics of ArcPro enough to explain it to someone, but it is a little overwhelming to know the power of what this software can do.

Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

  • 4 - I believe the hands-on approach did help with how much I was able to learn, as if this was done in another way, I do not believe I could have retained as much as I did.

What types of learning strategies would you recommend making the activity even better?

  • I would recommend breaking this done a little more instead of having this all in one lab session.  It was a lot of work, and at times, I felt like I wasn't able to fully understand everything of what was going on due to the time crunch.  Later in the lab, it felt almost like I was just trying to follow the instructions instead of fully grasping all the concepts.
