Introduction In this lab, we made use of two online tutorials on ArcGIS Online.  The tutorials ( Try Collector and Make your First Collector Map )  walked us through how to use the Arc Collector app, the abilities of it, and how to create a collector map with it.  The Arc Collector app is a mobile data collection app that makes it easy to capture accurate data in the field and return it to the office.  This can be helpful if you are on a job site, taking field notes, and employing traditional GCP markers, having an image associated with it. The type of geospatial data that is able to be collected and recorded in the field can make a GIS project invaluable, as it allows for a higher accuracy project (UAS project potentially).  Let’s get started! Processing Pix4D Imagery with GCPs

Introduction: In this lab, we continued to learn more about the software, Pix4D.  More specifically, we learned how to import ground control coordinate data into Pix4D.  Through this, we were able to understand how to set the coordinate system of the Ground Control Point (GCP) data and adjust the data in Pix4D using the GCP coordinate data.  The differences were then compared between the corrected and non-corrected data. In the end, we created a map using the high-resolution orthomosaic with detailed insets of the GCPs.  Before we get to that, the questions and answers below provide background that would be beneficial before continuing onto the project: What are Ground Control Points (GCPs) and what do they accomplish? Building Maps with UAS Data

Introduction In this lab, we continued to learn more about the software, ArcGIS Pro.  More specifically, we learned how to take UAS data and put it into the context of a Geographic Information System software package (ArcGIS Pro).  This is currently one of the most desired skills in the UAS world. Through this, we analyzed the data and became familiar with the core Geospatial concepts.  In the end, we created a map that meets the cartographic fundamentals and is functional. Before we get to that, the questions below provide an introduction and background that would be beneficial before continuing onto the project: Why are proper cartographic skills essential in working with UAS data?
